Feral Pigeons

Introduced into Australia by early settlers, Rock Pigeons (Columba Livia) can make themselves at home in almost any structure, urban or rural.

Introduced into Australia by early settlers, Rock Pigeons (Columba Livia) can make themselves at home in almost any structure, urban or rural. Aside from the dust, smell, and corrosive faecal matter issues, the presence of feral pigeons also brings health human issues such as respiratory, heart and kidney disease and salmonella.

Acoustic devices, trapping and poisoning are often ineffective with Pigeons. AVert Services’ preferred Feral Pigeon method of elimination is shooting, using sound suppressed systems and thermal sights, as well as more traditional systems.

AVert Services have delivered feral pigeon control services across a number of industrial Sites, including government and commercial facilities processing drinking water and produce for human consumption.  We have destroyed and removed thousands of pigeons during dedicated intensive elimination, control and maintenance programs extending to several years in duration.

Our Adelaide metropolitan clients also include cafes, churches, schools, public infrastructure and even residences.  We employ a range of tools and techniques to address clients’ unique needs (food hygiene requirements), hazards (flammable gases) and can operate at any hour to reduce the public optics of shooting activities.
