Target Species
Recent CSIRO research highlights that 1,257 of Australia’s threatened and endangered species are directly affected by 207 invasive plants, 57 animals and 3 pathogens.
When it comes to biodiversity, Australia is globally quite distinct. More than 70% of our species (69% of mammals, 46% of birds and 93% of reptiles) are found nowhere else on earth, and a loss to Australia is therefore a loss to the world. These hard hitting facts are always in the minds of the AVert Services operators and underpin our passion to get the best results for our clients as well as for generations of Australians to come.
Most recent estimates suggest the cost of controlling invasive species and economic losses to farmers per annum is $13.6 billion. However, this does not include harm to biodiversity and the essential role native species play in our ecosystems. Of the 57 species of feral animals prevalent in Australia, the AVert Services team have specific experience in the management of rabbits, hares, cats, foxes, deer, pigs, wild dogs, goats, pigeons, starlings, camels, horses and donkeys.
